Know Shirdi


  Shirdi is a town in the state of Maharashtra, in western India. It's known as the former home of revered spiritual leader Sai Baba, and as a major pilgrimage site. Devotees gather daily at the Sai Baba Temple complex to honor his legacy. Here, the Samadhi Mandir shrine has an ornate marble statue of Sai Baba, alongside his tomb. Close by are Dwarkamai a mosque where Sai Baba once lived, Gurusthan Temple, Saibaba museum, Chavadi Temple, Ganesha Temple, Shani Temple, Shiv Temple,  and tree-lined Lendi Garden.

           The Sri Saibaba Sansthan Trust located in Shirdi is one of the richest temple organizations in India. also known as Sainagar is a city in the Indian state of Maharashtra. It is located in the Rahata taluka of Ahmednagar District. It is accessible via the Ahmednagar–Malegaon State Highway No.10, approximately 83 km from Ahmednagar and 15 km from Kopargaon.

 

How to Reach :- 

Train

 

The SaiNagar Railway station is 3 KM from Main city.

The Sainagar Shirdi Railway station became operational in March 2009. As of 2011, there are trains from Chennai, Mumbai, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Hyderabad, Mysore, New Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata, Puri , and other cities/states that have Shirdi railway station as their terminal stop. 

Also Shirdi can be reached from the Manmad-Junction, Kopargaon and Nagarsul are other nearby railway stations on the Central Railway.

 

Air

Shirdi Airport was inaugurated by the President of India, Ramnath Kovind, on 1 October 2017. There are five destinations from Shirdi airport, the airports of Delhi, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai And  Bangalore. The airport is located at Kakdi (Kopargaon taluka), 15 km From Shirdi. The construction, according to the original plans, was completed in February 2016, and the first trial flight landed on 2 March 2016.

 

By car

Shirdi is accessible via the Ahmednagar-Manmad State Highway No.10, approximately 83 km from Ahmednagar and 15 km from Kopargaon. It is approximately 240 km from Mumbai on the Mumbai – Nasik Express Highway. The distance between Pune and Shirdi is about 204 km, and travel time via car is about 4 hours 30 minutes. 

 

SAI BABA PRASADALAYA :-  

Sri Sai Sansthan Prasadalaya is a free kitchen in Shirdi, Maharashtra. It is spread across 4 rooftops with 73 solar dishes, making it the largest solar-powered kitchen in India. The solar dishes fuel the preparation of nearly 50,000 meals each day and the concentrated heat from all the dishes creates 2800 kgs of steam in a single day! These dishes concentrate sunlight on receivers that contain water, generating steam that is piped down to the kitchen for cooking the meals. More than 2 tonnes of rice is cooked through this plant every day.
